Online (And Print) Resource: Transitions Abroad

3issues1.jpgA magazine with a substantial online presence, Transitions Abroad is an excellent resource not only for those interested in TEFL but for those interested in working or studying abroad in other fields as well.

The Teaching English Abroad section has a wide variety of articles on training programs, jobs, and volunteer opportunities. I personally find it a bit challenging to navigate – it’s not always clear to me how it is organized but articles tend to be informative, get straight to the point, and have several links. Highlights include an article on how to be an effective overseas volunteer by the authors of How To Live Your Dream Of Volunteering Overseas, a list of expat websites, an article on working in international schools (though it is from 2004), getting certified to work in international schools, and finally on discrimination abroad.

Whether you are currently teaching, studying, doing something else abroad or just dreaming about it, head over to Transitions Abroad now.
